Verglas glint at Geisel Park

Friday, 25 June 2021  |  Geisel Park heads the Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale this Sunday with a half-dozen lots by its resident stallions Vert De Grece (Ire) and All American.

Vert De Grece is a Group 1 winning son of WA success Verglas with his first runners out this season.  Trainer Luke Fernie presented his first starter Green And Shady in January and they went down fighting when touched off by Toppa The Mountain in the Own The Dream Plate (1100m) at Ascot.

Lot 52 is a Vert De Grece chestnut colt from Bourbon Dynasty (Trade Fair) who won three times up to 1400m in Perth.  Her first foal is a 2yo colt by Vert De Grece named Tizzle Top and he’s with Lindsey Smith.  The dam is a half-sister to Chantrea (Puissance De Lune), a Smith-trained LR Belmont Classic and LR Belmont Oaks winner twelve months ago before transferring to Victoria.

Lot 61 (pictured) is another chestnut colt by Vert De Grece and this one is from Glorianna who is by King Cugat from Glory Girl (G2 AJC Tea Rose Stakes).  The first of her two colts by All American was Mr America who won 12 races in Victorian and Tasmania for owner Ron Crack.

Her second Braggadocio was runner-up at Belmont (to Fire And Rain) and Northam (to Red Can Man) in a career limited to just five starts.  Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg purchased his dam Glorianna from the Hunter Valley and she has a Vert De Grece weanling colt at home in Myalup.
